I will like to know how i can get relaible forex trading signals?
I've been scammed by many of the so called gurus in this field.

Answer
I would suggest you stay away from anything that is sold on clickbank that relates to forex. I have tried some of these things that promise to make you thousands just by turning on your computer.

They all turned out to be pieces of garbage. I don't even want to add up what they all cost my in losses and what I paid for them. The best education you can get is on your own.

Visit some forums and other sites and learn about it before you put your hard earned money at risk.

There are good systems out there that actually do what they say they are going to do. I also suggest trying everything out on a demo account first so that you can see what you are getting into.

I tried to learn on the fly and it ended up costing me money and a lot of stress. Always work the kinks out before you go live with the trading. It makes life much easier.

I need a qualitative a FOREX signal, feeds and review for FOREX trading, how can I get one of the best offer ?

I have a forex account but the brokerage is in another country. Do I pay taxes or what? And if I do how do I go about doing that?

Answer
US citizens and resident aliens pay tax on worldwide icnome, so of course you do.

Unless this is classified as a 1256 contract, you report it on line 21, other income. 1256 goes to form 6781.

And, if the account had more than $10,000 in it at *any* time during 2009, don't forget to file form TDF 90-22.1

Right now, I'm in college and I'm starting to think about how I will start saving for the future. I already have money in a conventional bank account. But what else should I do in order to prepare for the future. There are so many different types of investments (forex, stocks, bonds, ira, precious metals, etc). What is a relatively safe way for me to save money and invest it at the same time?

Answer
I would say you should invest in shares and also premium bonds. You will not get interest in bonds bhut will not lose money and will be entered for a monthly draw. I only have minimum bonds and earned £100 from a draw.

Also here is a guide for if your parents are going to provide you some money. It will really lower what they pay. Please click on it even if they won't as I need some views.

Which of these 2 types of trading are you most likely to win at; Forex or stock trading?

William M

I want to know your opinion on which 2 types of trading you are most likely to win at if you trade, either Forex or stock trading? Which is most likely to give you better returns and make you richer quicker?

Answer
First, take 6 months in learning about stocks and trying it out with fake money in a stimulation web site like Yahoo! Finance.

www.finance.yahoo.com

The stocks you want to focus on is consumer staples, consumer discretionary, and healthcare. These are DEFENSIVE stocks that will survive through good and bad times. Most of my positions are in these stocks. Some names include 3M, Procter & Gamble, Kimberly Clark, Exxon Mobil, Walmart, Costco. Everybody's got to eat and wipe their butts regardless of the state of economy. Many of these companies survived through the Great Depression.

That's the benefits. You can sleep at night knowing your money is doing well. There are NO guarantees that you won't lose money. It's just that these stocks are the best. They pay good dividends too.

If you're new to stocks, DON'T DAY TRADE. You'll a rookie in a world of professionals. I tried day-trading with Citigroup and AIG when they were a little bit over $1. I had some luck at first, making about $30 a day but I was way over my head. My luck didn't last long and I had to rethink my strategy.

Besides you can't do much with $100 in the market. Day trading involves A LOT of commissions to the broker. With all the commissions deducted from each trade, you'll be lucky if you only lose half your money.

I would just day trade using Yahoo! Finance. Open a stimulation account, give yourself $100 worth of fake money and play it in the stimulation format. You'll see what I mean by losing money every easily.

Good luck.

Why is the USD taking a beating in the Forex market?

It has been losing ground to the Japanese Yen, Euro, and the British Sterling. What's the deal? When will this end? This is seriously screwing up my investment strategies.

Answer
The USD dollar is having problems for a couple of reasons. First, there is concern over the status of the US economy in general. We have a war going on that continues to ring up a large bill that will have to be paid by the US taxpayers sooner or later. We have a gazillion and a half baby boomers moving into their "golden years" that is predicted to put massive strain on already questionable social security and healthcare resources. And we have an consumer base that was heavily leaning on housing appreciation as a stimulus for the economy.

Now on top of that challenging set of circumstances we have an international community discussing the replacement of the USD as the primary trading currency in the foreign exchange marketplace. Remember all countries currently have to convert to USD to buy and sell oil and other commodities. What if this were to be slowly replaced with the Euro? or a new Middle Eastern currency like an Oily or some such? or what about the Yuan, rumor has it these guys are packing some serious weight these days.

Couple all this with a US political machine which is more concerned with "he said.....she said....partisan politics" as opposed to focusing on developing a sound economic foundation upon which our country can grow and self sustain......and you then have the most troubling situation for any Forex currency.....uncertainty!

That being said the US still has a lot going for us. The USD is not going to implode over night (at least I hope not). I have most of my clients currently positioned in long term hedging strategies that will perform nicely whether the USD goes up or down.

May all your guesses be good ones.

What's keeping the Chinese Yuan being overvalued against the dollar?

why not?

Say if it did devalue itself at last against the American Dollar, how would it help the American Economy, especially our manufacturers whom still do a lot of exporting?,Could it bring American jobs back? Re-stregthen wages even?

Answer
The Chinese Yuan is not overvalued, it is undervalued.

The Yuan is not a freely floating currency but it is actively managed within certain limits against the dollar, making it unofficially pegged to the dollar. The reason why Chinese are keeping their currency low (somehow stable against the dollar) and do not want it to appreciate against the dollar as it is supposed to be is that the US is their main customers and China is a mainly exporting country (like many others in Asia). If the Yuan appreciate it will make their stuff Americans and others import from them more expensive which will kill their competitive advantage and suffocate their development.

The Chinese central bank is able to keep the currency low because they heavily buy US treasuries to increase their foreign reserves of dollars (and do some forex interventions ...). However these policy will and is leading to increased inflationary pressures in China which will sooner or later push their currency to appreciate.

Now, if China let its currency appreciate against the dollar, it is bad for Chinese as they will lose their attractiveness as a place with cheap labour and materials. But that does not mean jobs will come back to America. It is safer to say that in this situation, jobs will just move to another cheap-labor country (Vietnam, other African and Asian countries ...). Worse, if China let's its currency appreciate and/or loose its export competitiveness it will be even more devastating for the US. As the Yuan appreciates, it means that Chinese will not need to manage their currency anymore, that means that they will stop buying US treasuries and selling a big amount of what they are holding. We are talking about probably hundreds of billions of dollars worth of bonds which the Chinese will want to get rid off and redeem. The US will have to find the money to pay back Chinese for all these bonds (the money that we do not have) and will need to issue more bonds that nobody will want driving bonds costs (interests and yields) to the stratosphere and the US treasury to immediate bankruptcy.

Be careful what you wish for.

I believe that it is already too late that this will be solved without a major crisis. And it is all our fault. Nobody put a gun to our head and foreced us to offshore our jobs, isn't it?

EDIT: Sorry 'What?' I didn't see you already gave the answer.

I follow a web site that trades the markets live each day. He uses the s and p Emini to watch whether the market is going up or down. The emini is.futures. why wouldnt he use the regular s and p 500 instead od emini? Is there a difference?

Answer
He won't use the S&P 500 Index because you can't trade an index.

Difference? There is always a spread between the futures and the cash index. When the spread drops below fair value or moves above it by a large enough margin (discount or premium), then one of the choices (stocks or futures) will become more attractive than the other, and they will sell one and buy the other by a process of arbitrage.

Sometimes, the futures pit in Chicago and the stocks trading in New York go in opposite directions, or in the same direction, but at different speeds. When that happens, the spread changes. The two prices will always be different until expiration of the futures contract.

Price in the ES can have gaps, giving additional information, whereas the index usually doesn't. A Gap Fill is a popular trade.

The volume on the ES contract is another helpful confirming indicator.

It's a good indicator because it tracks 500 of the largest stocks in America. That's a broad enough sample to give a good "average" without being able to manipulate a select few stocks. Everyone accepts the fact that what the S&P does, so the market goes.

But the emini blows up more traders than any other contract other than Forex. Those huge volumes make it difficult to compete against mega institutions. You won't get a fill unless price moves through your price, while the little guy easily gets picked and whipsawed.

Those .25 ticks on the emini is ridiculous, rather than .10 ticks for everything else.

If you look at the Average Yearly Tick Movement chart across all the major index futures. Lowest rank? The S&P e-mini vs. the Dow, Nasdaq, Russell small and mid-cap.

Try jumping in and trade amongst the big boys in a market that really doesn't have great range, that forces a lot of subjectivity due to the 0.25 ticks, and you have a formula for disaster.

More people should start trading the Russell.

Any idea of transaction fees on interbank forex broker?

yankieby

Any idea of transaction fees on interbank forex broker, or any other broker . i want to have an idea before I start trading.......

Answer
The transaction fee you mentioned is usually comes in the form of a commission or spread, or both. While rates vary from broker to broker, it is generally charged per trade. A commission is simply a fee, usually based on the size of your trade. The spread is the difference in pips between the bid and the ask price.

If you trade through a retail forex broker, then often times you will be given a commission free trading experience. These brokers will charge you the spread instead. EUR/USD may have a spread of 2 pips. So that means on every trade that you take, you will down by 2 pips from the start.

If you trade through an ECN forex broker, then you will be subject to both the spread and commission per trade. Spreads are typically lower from ECN brokers. But you now have to contend with the commissions.

When you say "interbank," if you are referring to actual trading between (inter) banks, then it is assumed that you are either very well connected with the banks or are trading on behalf of a major financial or government institution. Forex trading at this level will see very little in the way of spreads or commissions.

However, if you were referring to the broker/dealer named Interbank FX, then we are talking about simply another retail broker that charges 0 commissions and a rather high spread.

Hope this helps,
-Shuli

Do you recommend this strategy in the Asia-Pacific forex markets -- Singapore, HK, Japan, Australia & NZ?

Answer
No, I don't trade news stories, nor do I trade with a leverage of more than 1:50

The reason is simple: Broker spreads increase dramatically when a news report comes out. So the chances of manipulation & 'price spikes' are much higher.

Besides, the market itself goes into a volatile whipsaw at news time. Your stops can be taken out, trends takes a U-turn, and more often than not, you'll end up with unwanted losses.

How do you perform a Carry Trade?

melgonz@sb

Could someone recommend a good book to me on carry trades in forex? Thank you for your consideration.
I was refering to holding a EURO/USD + UDS/CHF. But thanks, that is a new idea.

Answer
A Carry Trade is borrowing in one currency with VERY LOW interest rates, and investing that in a currency with higher interest rates.

The most popular was the YEN carry trade. For long time the Bank of Japan had the YEN at 0% interest rates. You could borrow and then drop it in Euro's or Dollars at 4-5% interest. You could also invest in stocks as well.

The truth is, the rates have to be very low to make money because you have to pay for the foreign exchanges. Remember you have to change from YEN to ESD or EURO. Then buy your bonds/stocks/CD's.

Then you have to change that money back from YEN to EURO/USD.

I currently don't believe there is enough of a differential between the EURO and the USD to make a carry trade worthwhile.

Also, if either currency moves and the interest rate moves quite a bit, you will find yourself screwed in a very bad way.
