Answer
Im a new trader, and im currently trading with ITFX (investtechfx). They have very low spreads: 0.5 pips for 6 majors, and all the other currency pairs have very tight spreads too. Also scalping, hedging is allowed, no requotes so far. People have some complaints about the withdrawal taking too long. i will have to see it myself. Will make a withdrawal in the next few days, and see how it goes.

Why is the E-mini a good indicator of the general market. please details?

catmich99

I follow a web site that trades the markets live each day. He uses the s and p Emini to watch whether the market is going up or down. The emini is.futures. why wouldnt he use the regular s and p 500 instead od emini? Is there a difference?

Answer
He won't use the S&P 500 Index because you can't trade an index.

Difference? There is always a spread between the futures and the cash index. When the spread drops below fair value or moves above it by a large enough margin (discount or premium), then one of the choices (stocks or futures) will become more attractive than the other, and they will sell one and buy the other by a process of arbitrage.

Sometimes, the futures pit in Chicago and the stocks trading in New York go in opposite directions, or in the same direction, but at different speeds. When that happens, the spread changes. The two prices will always be different until expiration of the futures contract.

Price in the ES can have gaps, giving additional information, whereas the index usually doesn't. A Gap Fill is a popular trade.

The volume on the ES contract is another helpful confirming indicator.

It's a good indicator because it tracks 500 of the largest stocks in America. That's a broad enough sample to give a good "average" without being able to manipulate a select few stocks. Everyone accepts the fact that what the S&P does, so the market goes.

But the emini blows up more traders than any other contract other than Forex. Those huge volumes make it difficult to compete against mega institutions. You won't get a fill unless price moves through your price, while the little guy easily gets picked and whipsawed.

Those .25 ticks on the emini is ridiculous, rather than .10 ticks for everything else.

If you look at the Average Yearly Tick Movement chart across all the major index futures. Lowest rank? The S&P e-mini vs. the Dow, Nasdaq, Russell small and mid-cap.

Try jumping in and trade amongst the big boys in a market that really doesn't have great range, that forces a lot of subjectivity due to the 0.25 ticks, and you have a formula for disaster.

More people should start trading the Russell.

What is forex and currency trading. Is it a kind of business?

Please let me know in detail abut the forex and currency trading business?

Answer
It's a way to invest your money kind of like the stock market. You are buying and selling, just like the stock market. But rather than buying and selling the actual currency itself, you are buying and selling the DIFFERENCE in value (aka the exchange rate) between two different currencies.

Best way to get into the Forex is to open a demo account at http://comefollowme.zulutrade.com/Performance.aspx and add some strategies to your portfolio. It's all free, and it's the largest Forex strategy website in the world. I'll post some more links below in my sources.

How are currency exchange rates calculated?

Chris B

The US Dollar is declining in value against the British Pound and the Euro, but the decline versus the Euro is greater.
If US interest rates are reset lower, I am told that the value of the Dollar versus the other currencies declines further.
These exchange rates are calculated to four decimal places, indicating significant precision.
If the Chinese Yuan is set higher than it currently is, what will that do to the Dollar versus the Pound and the Euro?

Answer
Exchange rates are not calculated the are determined by the currency exchange markets where traders by and sell currencies. see FOREX.
The theory predicts that that the demand for dollars is dependent on the interest investors can get on dollar denominated bonds, so a lower interest rate decreases the demand and would lower the "price" of the dollar, but the amount of the decrease is a rough estimate.

Twitters, mt4sync or something like it, anywhere I can watch beginners trading. I don't care about professionals.
It's for testing some theories a friend and I have come up with. If there's anything worthwhile about our research I'll be happy to share it.
Seriously? I am capable of finding a beginner guide, I just want what I asked for!

Answer
Dailyfx has a good forum.

I've been successful trading forex for more than a decade, until the financial crisis started and all of the rules changed (and are still changing). This is a crisis-driven, debt-driven, news-driven, politically driven market now that only moves in fits and starts. It is complete chaos and only the sharks are left. Who can guess what another idiot politician will do next? It's a fool's game, especially for a newbie. Worse, the newbie disregards risk and leverage, focuses on profits instead, and looks through rose-colored glasses and hindsight, and everything is just rosy, right?

At least with free markets you have a chance, but not so with gov't controlled markets. FX markets are unregulated, except by the banks themselves. If you enter their world, especially now, they will have their way with you.

If you really want to dabble with currencies, start without leverage using the currency ETF's. You can do this in a standard stock account, without opening a new FX account. The regulated exchanges are more consistent, more reliable, and the rules are constant and known.

Currency ETFs are a way to play any dollar-related trades. These ETFs are just as good as trading spot forex. The only difference is that the ETFs are not leveraged. Below is a list of some of the currency ETFs that are worth trading:
â¢FXA - Australian dollar
â¢FXB - British pound
â¢FXC - Canadian dollar
â¢FXE - euro
â¢FXY - Japanese yen
â¢FXF - Swiss franc

What is the simplest way to win in binary options for a beginner?

M45goi89

I am looking for an online binary options broker who offers many demos for beginners, an easy system and offers Trader's Choise investments. Also, I need a broker who can/will show the correct time for my area plus the correct expiry time of the binary options.

Answer
The short answer is there is no simple or guaranteed way to win on binary options.

Binary options are are a trading tool for trading stocks, forex, commodities or indices. You bet if the asset (e.g. stock) will go up or down in the specified time (usually a few hours). If you're right you get your money back plus some profit. If not you lose most of your money.

Like the stock market, there is no guarantee to be right.
And like gambling there is no betting system where you always win.

You can definitely make money trading binary options but I would stay far away from any system that "guarantees" profits.

Q. I have tried a few FX Trading brokers but am not really satisfied with their services. Can someone please let me know more about reliable online Forex trading resources?

Answer
See the thing is, while investing through online brokerage firms; you need to make sure you are not being duped. Do not blindly trust any firm who says they can get you maximum return on investment. Always look for a reputed name, having a successful track record and a global client list. Only then can you be sure that youâre actually investing in the right place.

I recommend London Pearson; they are highly reputed investment and brokerage firm and have been serving organizational and individual clients all over the globe. They have expertise in handling investments in FX trading, CFDs, hedge funds and many other financial instruments. Just visit their website, www.londonpearson.com and you can read more about the services they offer.

I came across a site that talked about forex trading to make money & it took me to a site that sells an automated forex trader, skeptical I googled it & it got good reviews. But if I do purchase this forex trading system what else do I have to do to start making money? Do I have to open an account? What exactly do I have to do? I'm completely new to this. (all criticism & unrelated answers will be ignored v_v)

Answer
Hello,

I see you are very green in Forex trading.

First of all, do not pick up the first one automated Forex system.
Here are a lot of them. As a Forex software developer, see mine Forex robots and strategies.

Here are websites:
* http://www.forexeasystems.com/
* http://forexthor.com/

Before any Forex trading, I advise you to learn the basics of Forex trading at Babypips school.
There you will learn the basic structure as well as get knowledge how to implement technical analysis in your trading, and so on.

Next your step is to choose the right broker. It's not a secret that choosing the "right" broker is 75% of your success. Here is the article: http://pipburner.com/choosing-a-forex-broker-using-a-rating-system/

Alternatively, browse through the internet and find feedback about Forex brokers.
Then, try to practice with your new Forex software on demo account (not real money account).
If software doesn't work for you, make a refund.

REMEMBER, high-quality software has at least 30 days refund policy. If it doesn't, stay away.

Only after all these stages, start trading on real account.

Best regards,
Alexander.

What is the Best Automated Forex Trading System Out There?

anav

Hi everyone!

I am relatively new to forex and have only just found out about all these automated forex robots and such that are supposed to really take a lot of the risk out of forex trading. There are so many though! Can anyone suggest like a good one, based on personal experience?

Thank you!

Answer
anav, A good forex system means you need to constantly have high probability trades. You also need to be aware of all the currency pairs in real time. Maybe this blog can help. http://www.whatisforextrading.com/blog/ Remember, no trading will be full proof, so be cautious about the claims some trading systems make.
